It was at 03.30 on the night of Monday that the police received a report of a burglary in progress on the premises of Stavanger Foto. It was the security company that reported the break-in, the police write in a press release.

The police immediately moved out, but the thieves had left the scene before the police arrived. A search was made in the area without results.

The thieves were dressed in dark clothing and masked, surveillance images from the scene show. Police say the people probably entered via the entrance, which was broken.

– The break-in appears professional and planned, as they took some of the most expensive products in the store. The audio on the obtained surveillance material gives rise to the suspicion that the thieves may have spoken to each other in Eastern European, but we do not know this for sure, says police attorney Linn Bakken Bertelsen.

There are currently no suspects in the case. The police do not have a complete overview of the proceeds, but so far it has been established that the suspects have taken cameras and equipment worth around NOK 700,000. A crime scene investigation has been carried out at the scene, but the police currently have few leads to follow.

– No one has been arrested or suspected in the case. We are now asking the public for help. Those who have information about suspicious activity around Stavanger Foto during the night to Monday, or in the days before, are asked to contact the police, says Bertelsen.
