April 28: Shot at a restaurant
On the night of Sunday, shots were probably fired through the window of Beirut Kebab in Greenland. There were several customers in there. A man in his 20s was seriously injured and sent to hospital. The police believe there is more than one perpetrator, and that the man was not a random victim.
This causes the victim’s legal counsel, lawyer Bjørn Aksel Henriksen, to react.
– It is easy to draw the conclusion that this is a targeted attack. It is far too early to say, says Henriksen to Aftenposten.

28 October: Shot 15-year-old at a party
On Saturday 28 October 2023, a 19-year-old shot a 15-year-old at a party in the Godlia/Trasop area. The young shooting victim was taken to hospital, but his life was not in danger. The police knew who to look for, but did not find the 19-year-old suspect. He had been driven to a marina by another teenager, according to the indictment. But the accused reported himself to the police not long after and pointed out where the gun was. Several young people have been charged with assisting the accused by concealing evidence in the case.
– It is terrifying
From 2022 to 2023, the number of serious violent incidents in Oslo almost doubled, figures from the police show. The number of stabbings also increased, from around 20 in 2022 to over 50 last year.
The nine shooting incidents in this case are the shooting incidents the media have captured in the last six months. So there may be more.
– It is frightening that there are more and more episodes, and it seems to be getting worse and worse. It is a development that is going in the wrong direction. It is a very serious situation, says leader of the justice committee at the Storting, Helge André Njåstad (Frp).
Last year, 17 cases of violence where firearms were used were reported, police statistics show. But there were even more such cases in 2021 and 2022. Then, respectively, 20 and 22 cases of violence with firearms were registered.
Helge André Njåstad (Frp)
Head of the justice committee at the Storting
Njåstad fears that it will degenerate.
– We see how they have lost control in Sweden. The combination of crime increasing and the number of police man-years falling is not sustainable. It is no longer just the FRP that talks about Swedish conditions. They also do that in the police, claims the politician.
He repeats Frp’s proposal to introduce stricter penalties for crime committed in certain zones. It is something they have introduced in Denmark, among other things.
– We see that some geographical areas are harder hit than others.
