– I panicked. Then I started looking for it on the floor. I crawled around for a quarter of an hour, says Fossesholm.

The drama started when she put down her dentures on the table at home in Vestfossen.

– I got a dental implant in May last year. It’s a kind of denture, only with one tooth. When I’m at home, I don’t use it, says Fossesholm.

It was Drammen’s newspaper that mentioned the case first.

Tooth thief on four legs

Leaving it on the table turned out to be a bad idea. A little four-legged miss named “Lotta” considered the denture to be a delicacy.

– None of us have caught it, but she has been able to grab it from the table. Little trickster.

After an intense search, it was found in several pieces. The dog had simply chewed it to pieces.

– Then I didn’t know whether to laugh or laugh. There were a few tears at first, because then it becomes a bit like crisis maximization. You imagine that, father, I won’t have a tooth next week, says the ski talent.

After a while, she was able to laugh about the whole situation, and Lotta and Helene Marie are still good friends.

– It’s a bit comical. It usually always works out. I called the dentist, got an appointment the next day, and now I have a tooth. And it’s even stuck, she says.

It is not the first time that dentures have gone astray.

– It has been in the dishwasher. Because when you put it in a glass, and someone cleans up a bit, it’s quickly done, says Fossesholm.

Get dad as coach

Fossesholm did not get a place in the national team. Now she will be trained by her own father to find top form for next season.

– I haven’t performed well enough to deserve a place in the national team, so it’s completely fair. Dad knows me extremely well. He was the one I had as a coach before I joined the team. If I do say so myself, it worked quite well. There are many ways to room, but I know that the way with dad has worked very well before, she says.

Now she looks forward to training and planning with her father.

– I am highly motivated. I even got a new tooth, says Fossesholm.
