Last week it became known that a 32-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Danish Emilie Meng (17). Meng disappeared from Korsør on Zealand in 2016, and was found dead in a lake half a year later.

The man who is now charged with Meng’s murder is also charged with attempted murder, abduction and rape of a 13-year-old girl. He is also charged with a third matter: an assault against a 15-year-old in Sorø.

On Monday, the indictment against the man was made public. There it emerges that Meng was probably killed by suffocation, among other things as a result of tape around his mouth and nose, writes Ekstra Bladet.

The indictment states that Meng was subjected to deprivation of liberty at approximately 04:00 in the morning when the 32-year-old defendant took her into the car, and then transported her to an unknown location where he raped her.

The stripped body is said to have then been placed in the lake at Regnemarks Bakke in Borup, where she was later found.

He is also charged with the deprivation of liberty of a 13-year-old girl, who disappeared when she was handing out newspapers in Kirkerup in April 2023.

According to the indictment, he forced her into his car and drove around with her in the trunk.

She is said to have been subjected to violence several times. According to the indictment, the 13-year-old was beaten on the body – among other things when she tried to get free. The police believe that he planned to kill her, probably by strangulation.

The trial against the man starts in Næstved in May. The defendant has pleaded partially guilty to the charge of deprivation of liberty and rape of the 13-year-old. He denies criminal guilt in the case of Emilie Meng and for the assault on the 15-year-old.
