(Avisa Oslo) After a long time of nagging, Camilla Hasle Myhrvold (50) and her daughter convinced her husband and son to get a cat.

In September, Bobby the cat became part of the Torshov family, and in a short time Camilla’s son and husband had also become “cat people”.

– He changed our lives. My daughter called it her baby, says the 50-year-old.

On Friday morning, she found 14-month-old Bobby dead just outside the apartment in Torshovgata. Around him on the ground, the wall and things, there was a lot of blood.

– Totally awesome

– Bobby was a really nice and kind cat. He was funny and talkative, and liked to accompany me to the bin or the shop, says Camilla.

She says that as usual she put Bobby on his collar and let him out around seven in the morning. Meanwhile, the family set about the rest of their morning routine before a message from the neighbor ticked in while they were having breakfast.

– “Something has happened to a cat similar to yours,” it said. I was completely amused, so I ran out, says Torshovdama.

There was a dead cat against the wall of the apartment, just a few meters down from the living room window. The jaw and neck were broken. There was blood spatter all over the wall, the ground, chairs and planks.

– I was initially in doubt as to whether it was Bobby, because the collar was not on, but then someone came over with the collar that had been found a little further away, says Camilla.

A neighbor put a blanket over Bobby and the 50-year-old went back inside to the children:

– Then I was completely devastated and cried a lot, so my daughter realized that something was wrong. I said Bobby is dead.

Together they went out to get Bobby wrapped in a blanket. Then he must have been soft and warm. Later they drove to Finnskogen, where they own a croft, to bury him.

– Yesterday it was absolutely amazing. We just cried and cried. When we got home we huddled together in the same bed and tried to sleep.

The police are investigating the case

After the clock had struck 9 a.m. and the vet across the street had opened, Camilla took Bobby there. There she is said to have been encouraged to contact the police.

– The police said that I must appear physically at the police station to make a report, so I will do so on Monday.

In addition, two police officers eventually arrived. Together with the vet, they must have concluded that the cat has suffered a trauma, but that they could not say for sure what caused it. They must not have confirmed after denying whether it could be due to a collision or another willful act.

Operations manager Tor Gulbrandsen tells Avisa Oslo that they were notified by Camilla shortly after 10:00 a.m.:

– We sent a patrol to the scene who spoke to her. It is unclear what happened, but an investigation has been launched. As things stand now, it sounds quite violent and macabre. It is being investigated, so let’s hope they get on with it, he says.

– Really weird

Camilla has posted about the incident on Facebook, and says that many people think it must be due to a collision. She herself has doubts.

– There are many craftsmen who work in the backyard and drive a car in there even if one is not supposed to, but I went around and checked the tires of all the cars, points out the 50-year-old and adds:

– It is also very strange with the necklace that has come off. Those who found the necklace said it was lying on the grass maybe three or four meters away.

Camilla also points out that Bobby was found next to the wall between some chairs and a pile of planks, and that it should therefore be well done for a car to drive here.

Now the 50-year-old hopes that someone may have seen what happened, and will make contact. Bobby was found in Ole Bull’s gate/Torshovgata.

– I really don’t understand what has happened, and I just want to know so I can process it. It’s still difficult and will be for a long time, but it will get better – at least so that you don’t laugh all the time, she says.

Now the family is looking for a new cat – not to replace Bobby, but to “shift the focus”.
