NNational Day is for many a long day, with activities and lots of fun. And you can often feel that your legs ache a bit after a couple of hours.
– What has surprised us the most is the increase in sales of bunad sneakers, says deputy managing director of Spar Kjøp, Markus Eide Knudsen to KK.
He says that even with extremely good sales figures last year, they see sales doubling this year.
– I did everything to hide it. Black training clothes and panty liners were routine
This is how the idea came about
The sneakers have embroidery in a national pattern and should match festive costumes and bunads.
– The idea for the sneakers with a pattern came from seeing how many people wore sneakers to their bunads and party costumes, says Knudsen and adds:
– There was clearly a need for more comfort, and the shoes have been a success!
The dream of a white bunads shirt ended in a nightmare: – Half the shoulder was gone
The trend is intensifying
Many people choose to do something new with their clothes.
In recent years, there has been a change in Bunad’s history. More and more people have started to implement colorful and floral shirts, scarves and other accessories.
– These are exciting times in the bunad industry, also purely historical. The trend of colorful bunad shirts with and without pattern in silk, linen and cotton has only intensified, says general manager at Embla bunader in Stavanger, Marianne Lambersøy.
Silk scarves, hairbands and hoops are still trending, and this year she says that they are also seeing more rings for men and women. In addition, they see more decorations in the hair such as brooches, pearls and other jewelery that is personal, but does not necessarily belong to the bunad.
