There have been over 200 lightning strikes in and around Kristiansand in the last half hour.

According to the lightning map of the Meteorological Institute, thunderstorms are on their way.

State meteorologist Berit Hagen says that the weather came from Denmark and the Skagerrak.

– There is a low pressure area off Western Norway that gives a south-easterly air flow towards Agder and several other places in the country. The weather arrived from Denmark. It is perhaps more reminiscent of summer weather than April weather.

She says that there has been a lot of lightning and thunder in Denmark. Parts of Eastern Norway may also experience lightning tonight.

VG has received a number of tips from people in Kristiansand who were surprised by the lightning.

No lightning was ever reported at Yr, so many people are surprised.

One of them is Even May Dragvik. He was sitting in his living room in Kristiansand when a lot of light came from the living room window.

– On the lightning map it said that there were more than a hundred. I saw quite a few of them. It was supposed to rain, so I was surprised. There were a lot of flashing lights from outside, very clear lightning strikes, he says.

Tipsters inform Fædrelandsvennen that the power has gone out both on Andøya and on Flekkerøy.
