23,888 applicants have applied to NTNU as their first choice this year, according to a press release from the university. That means one in six applicants to universities this year.

There is a significant increase in applicants for technological subjects this year, according to the press release from NTNU.
More applicants for kindergarten teacher in Trondheim
Kindergarten teacher training throughout Norway has experienced a decline in recent years. In a press release, Dronning Mauds Minne Høgskole (DMMH) writes that it seems the numbers have now stabilised.
The number of applicants for part-time kindergarten teacher training has increased by 43 per cent at DMMH this year. Overall, the number of applicants to them has increased by 5 per cent.
The proportion of male applicants to the kindergarten teacher training courses at DMMH is now 15 per cent. This is a slight decrease from last year, according to the college.
