The 40-square-metre cabin on Lindøya just outside Oslo went for NOK 5.35 million, after having been advertised at an asking price of NOK 3.9 million.

– This shows that there is good activity and it is attractive to have a cabin in the inner Oslofjord, which I think is natural, says responsible broker behind the sale, Susanna Hjelset i Eie, to E24.

Lindøya is about a quarter of an hour’s boat ride away from Aker Brygge in the center of Oslo and has around 300 summer cottages.

– Are you surprised by the sale?

– Yes and no. It has been a little more difficult to sell the cabins on Lindøya lately. We chose to be sober in our pricing out in the market. There were a lot of strong feelings about the suggested price on one side and the other, says Hjelset.

She says she got an “incredible response” to the ad when it was posted.

– I received calls from brokers who have sold there, cabin neighbors, interested parties and family members of people who have cabins out there. The opinions were both that the price was set far too low and far too high, says the estate agent.

– Now those who thought it was low were right, if you can put it that way.

She describes the cottage as “very pleasant and charming”.

– It is a relatively small cabin with two bedrooms. It is a very charming plot of land, but which is not located in the first row by the sea. That is part of the reason why the price was set lower than many other cabins on Lindøya, says Hjelset.
