According to the plan, the one-way traffic will expire 2024, and does not apply to buses. In other words, these can run as before.

It is Trøndelag county council that writes it in a press release.

It is the Environmental Package that is in the process of converting Innherredsveien into a so-called miljøgate. Pedestrians and cyclists are to be prioritized here together with public transport.

Traffic diversion is due to the contractor being able to do the work on one safe and secure way.

Out the year

The one-way traffic in Mellomveien will initially apply until 2024. Buses will still be allowed to drive in both directions, but the road will be closed to cars at the intersection at the old tram depot, i.e. where Mellomveien meets Nidarholms gate.

The red arrows show the direction of travel for passenger cars, while the green arrows apply to buses which can still run as before. Click for larger version.

Until then, cars will be able to turn left and via Thomas von Westens gate towards Innherredsveien.

– We encourage motorists to follow the signs and use the detour options, says senior engineer in the Environmental Package Hussein Abdullahi Ali.

It will be in addition changes in the driving pattern at the intersection there Stadsing Dahls gate meets Innherredsveien.

There you will no longer be able to turn left towards the centre. Instead, motorists mustinge to the right and drive via Thomas von West’s street to get to the city center.
