Over 81 per cent of those questioned believe that it is important or very important that we are self-sufficient and produce our own food in this country, writes the newspaper.
This is an increase of 8.3 percentage points from last year, when almost 73 per cent answered that self-sufficiency is important or very important.
Women think this is more important than men, as 88 per cent of women think self-sufficiency is important or very important, while 75 per cent of men think the same.
Nor does the perception vary as much between city and country as one might think.
72 per cent in Oslo think self-sufficiency is important or very important, while 86.6 per cent in northern Norway think the same.
Nor is there a big gap in people’s opinions in terms of age.
Young people think self-sufficiency is a little less important than their parents’ generation, but there are not that big differences between the age groups.
In all age groups, over 75 per cent believe that national food production and self-sufficiency are important or very important.
