A series of macabre discoveries in the area around the city of Salford, outside Manchester in England, has caused the murder alarm to go off.
A hiker probably sensed peace and no danger when, on April 4, he first discovered a torso wrapped in cellophane, found by the wetlands of a nature reserve.

But it does not stop there. This weekend, after the police launched a full investigation, remains were found in three other places in the area around the city.
“Unknown person”
On Saturday, according to the BBC, among others, “a package” of dismembered body parts was found at a hiking area, just a few kilometers away from the first discovery site.
The next day, not far away, divers found even more remains. Discoveries have also been made at a railway line, where the police have also searched a house, writes the BBC.

The police believe all the remains belong to the same victim, a man in his 60s. The man’s identity is currently not known to the public, and goes under “unknown person”.
– We have been investigating this case with full force for the past three weeks, and our work is not over yet, Assistant Chief of Police Sarah Jackson said on Monday, according to The Independent.
She adds that, with the victim and those left behind in mind, they will do everything to get to the bottom of what happened to the deceased man. The victim’s relatives have been informed of the gruesome findings.
– We want to give this cruel case a dignified end, so that the victim can be reunited with the family, says Jackson.

– A shock
On Monday, two Polish men were charged with murder. Both have been remanded in custody, but it is currently unknown whether they plead guilty.
It is believed that the victim was killed and dismembered sometime between late March and early April.
The grotesque murder case shakes the local community in Salford, with its barely 100,000 inhabitants. The district’s assistant chief of police thanks residents for their support:
– I know that this event comes as a shock. We are very grateful for all the help we have received, she says.
