Several British media are reporting on the airport chaos on Tuesday evening.
A spokesperson at the airport in Manchester informs the Manchester Evening News that the border control systems are out of order, and that this applies throughout the country.
The same is confirmed by a spokesperson at London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports to Sky News.
– We assist the border police with their emergency plans, to help solve the problem as quickly as possible, and follow up on the passengers. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused them, says the spokesperson at Heathrow Airport to the channel.
It is currently unclear what caused the system failure, and how long it will take to get the systems up and running again.
