It’s not the first time Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has come up with this analysis related to the iPad mini.

Quite a price for 64GB of storage space

But now that he does again, we expect him to be all the more certain. The product we are talking about? iPad mini. When we tested Apple’s smallest tablet in October 2021, we were far from impressed with the screen, and with a bad screen on a product like a tablet, we could not reward it with more than 7 out of 10 points, which is low for an Apple -product. The experience was extra disappointing as the market wanted a mini with an upgraded design for a long time.

Now Gurman claims again that the product will not come soon, but at least it should not be launched in 2025, but in the winter of this year. The Apple journalist with continuous scoop claims that it is nothing more than a chipset upgrade, i.e. from A15 to perhaps A18 which will be introduced in the iPhone 16 series in September.

Does Apple care about the iPad mini?

We don’t know how many Apple has sold of the mini in the last three years, but if they want to make it a real raw gaming machine, the A18 Pro and a 120Hz screen will do wonders, but it will be pure wishful thinking. It is nor is it impossible that Apple increases the entry model from 64GB of storage space to 128GB as they just did with the new iPad Air M2. iPad mini 64GB costs NOK 7,490.

We haven’t heard anything more about it, but leakers have previously claimed that Apple will fix the troublesome “jelly scroll” problem we disliked so much in the 2021 model.
