Skier dead after accident

The police in Møre og Romsdal reported a skiing accident at 15.59 in a mountain near Rauma.

It was made known early on that a rescue helicopter was requested in connection with the accident.

– This is a serious accident and we have not yet notified the skier’s family, the police wrote shortly after the first report was received.

The police state at 18.50 that the skier has been confirmed dead. The deceased is a man in his 30s.

– When we have summarized the information we have, we will be able to say something about the sequence of events.

The person must have been with a tour group of two people. One of these must have come down from the mountain on his own.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Relatives are looked after by family and crisis teams.
