Take-Two recently announced that it would carry out extensive corporate cutbacks. The gaming giant announced layoffs and closures, and according to Bloomberg, both Roll7 and Intercept Games will disappear.
Both studios belong to Private Division, Take-Two’s publishing arm for smaller gaming ventures. Roll7 is known for games such as OlliOlli and Rollerdrome, while Intercept was behind Kerbal Space Program 2.
In a statement to Bloomberg, Take-Two CEO Alan Lewis referred only to the April layoff announcement. There, the management explained that the aim was to streamline the company’s structure.
Lewis didn’t want to give further details, but pointed out that updates for Kerbal Space Program 2 are still being worked on. That’s despite the fact that all of the Intercept’s employees – around 70 people – appear to have lost their jobs.
Take-Two recently acquired Borderlands developer Gearbox Entertainment. The company also expects to make loads and loads of money next year, probably linked to the planned launch of Grand Theft Auto VI.
