As you may recall, Microsoft was hit with a major leak last fall that revealed the company was working on a new model of the Xbox Series S/X and an updated controller with several new features.

Since then, we haven’t heard anything more about it, but the new controller is still alive according to several well-known insiders and journalists, including The Verge editor Tom Warren. Another believer in this is Jez Corden, editor of Windows Central. In the latest episode of his podcast, he talks about the controller and says that it has a physical switch that lets you choose between Bluetooth and Xbox.

Already today, the Xbox Series S/X controllers can do this if you double-click the sync button, but a physical switch is undeniably easier and will hopefully lead to more people realizing they can play their mobile games and other things with the regular Xbox Series S/ The X controller.

However, this is not an official confirmation, although Corden is usually reliable. Whether or not this updated controller will actually become a reality remains to be seen, but according to the above leak, it will launch this year, and Microsoft has confirmed that they have Xbox hardware on the way.
