Both The Verge and 9to5Mac have mentioned the problems.

– Has stopped production

Banned for an hour

This should have led to further problems for users who have activated theft protection and who are away from a so-called known place, for example at home – where you then have to wait an hour to be able to make changes.

Another issue has been that any app-specific passwords previously set up in iCloud are also reset when the Apple ID password is reset.

Apple’s system status page should not have indicated any problems with its services, so it is not known whether it was a widespread error, writes The Verge.

Apple has not yet commented on the matter.

The rumors are swirling

Exposed to “MFA Bombing”

Recently, Apple users have been exposed to a sophisticated phishing attack that exploits a flaw in the password reset function of Apple ID.

According to Krebs on Security, the attack uses a so-called “push-bombing” technique (MFA Bombing), where users are flooded with notifications in an attempt to get them to change their passwords

According to 9to5Mac, it is unknown if Helga’s problems are related to this attack.
