The former league champion for Malmö – who has also played for Gefle and Sundsvall in the Allsvenskan – has signed an agreement until the 2025 season.

– It will be cool and exciting. I know Andreas and Robin from my time in Malmö, and they are two fantastic coaches who are also good leaders. Both are “football geeks” who care about details and do everything they can to win games – while being very nice people. I’ve had some coaches who don’t always see the people. It may work in the short term, but hardly in the long term. They have said a lot of good things about Lillestrøm, and I got an even better impression of the club when I visited. A family club where you put the team first and work hard for each other. Just the way I like it, says the experienced right-back – who can also play on the left.

Double league champion with Malmö

Among other things, he won two league championships with the Swedish big club before he signed for the Greek top league club OFI on the holiday island of Crete in the summer of 2022.

NEW PLAYER: Eric Larsson has signed an agreement until the 2025 season.

– It’s been a nice adventure, but now I’m looking forward to trying a new adventure. I know the Allsvenskan after many years there, so it feels exciting to have a new challenge in the Norwegian Eliteserien. I know that physical and organized football is played in Norway where the teams work hard. I’m a player with a good attitude and a lot of energy, so I think it will suit me well. I will always give my all for the team no matter what. In addition, I have some fine offensive qualities that I can hopefully show off, says Larsson.

Sports director Simon Mesfin is happy to be able to complement the squad with the experienced Swede. Larsson originally had a contract until the summer, but LSK has agreed with OFI Crete to realize the transfer now.

– Eric fits the profile we have been chasing perfectly after Eskil Edh was sold to AIK and Lars Ranger was injured. In addition to having good skills, he is very professional, hardworking and will come in with a lot of experience which he will add to the group. He can play both right and left back, says Mesfin.

Rejoices

On Sunday, he followed the A team’s training after taking a medical test at Åråsen. He had to follow Monday’s season premiere from the airport.

– Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see the game, but I understood that you were a bit unlucky to lose. Now I’m just happy that everything is okay. I am both excited and expectant, and I am ready to drive hard. I’m looking forward to taking my family and moving to Norway, then I’ll remember to bring some sun from Crete too, he says with a smile.

Eric Larsson arrives in Norway at the weekend and is fully involved from next week. We warmly welcome the 32-year-old!
