All emergency services are on their way to the scene.
TV 2 reported on the case first.
– We are working to get an overview. We know that they have run aground, and that is really what we know, says communications advisor Anja Bakken at the Central Rescue Service to VG.
At 09.43 she states that all emergency services are on their way.
– The main rescue center coordinates the action. All emergency services have been notified and are on their way. Coastguard ships and tugboats are also on their way, she tells VG.
– How serious is it?
– It doesn’t seem like there are any injuries. We have not received any messages about that, says Bakken.
She is not aware of whether the ship is taking in water.
Per Hogneland, rescue manager at the Central Rescue Service, says the following to TV2:
– We have no information that it is taking in water, nor do we have any indication that anyone has been injured.
According to the tracking service MarineTraffic, the ship’s status is that it has stopped. The ship was on its way from Hareid on Sunnmøre to Bergen, according to the service.
The ship is 122 meters long and 23 meters wide and was built in 1993. According to Hurtigruten, the ship has capacity for 590 passengers.
VG has tried to get in touch with Hurtigruten, but has not yet received a reply.
