Samsung should have managed to achieve at least two major improvements with the Z Fold 6, and there are also two rumors that make us open our eyes about the future of the Z Fold series.
Cuts weight, optimizes screens
First up: weight. Fold 6 weighs only 239g. It is only 6g more than the Galaxy S24 Ultra and a good distance away from the Fold 5’s 253g. Another big advantage, also according to the well-known Android leaker Ice Universe, is that the 6.3″ external screen gets a 22:9 format instead of 23:1:9. The screen on the inside measures 7.6″ as usual and with 7:6 format.
Z Fold Ultra?!
When it comes to the dimensions, there are good things to hear there as well: the thickness is 12.1 and 5.6 mm when the device is unfolded – i.e. just over 1 mm thinner than the Fold 5.
The most piquant rumor from Ice Universe is that Samsung will launch an even rougher version of the Fold, which will probably get a “Ultra“-issue. In addition, it is rumored, from other sources, that Samsung is working on both the Z Fold FE and the Z Flip FE. Whether Samsung chooses to move forward with any of these products is too early to say, but a more affordable Fold variant sounds more logical than a more expensive one.
The new Z mobiles are expected in July or August at the same time as the Galaxy Ring.
