Prince Harry (39) returns to London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. At the same time, according to the Daily Mail, it has been confirmed that Duchess Meghan will stay at home in the United States with the children.
It could be a lonely few days for Harry, especially since it seems his family doesn’t want to shelter him.
The media has speculated about where he will live while he is in his home country. Last time, he had to stay in a hotel when he was on a quick visit in connection with his father King Charles (75) opening up about his cancer diagnosis.
Wrecked the son
It has now been confirmed that Duchess Meghan will not be coming to London. Journalist Chris Ship from the British television channel ITV reports on X that she will, however, accompany Harry to Nigeria in connection with the Invictus Games.
The foundation has sent out a press release about next week’s event:
“The Invictus Games Foundation will celebrate 10 years of changing lives with a service at St Paul’s Cathedral on 8 May. Our Patron, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, will be in attendance along with actor Damian Lewis and members of the global Invictus community to celebrate the occasion”.
Duchess Meghan will stay in California with her children Archie (4) and Lilibet (2). Archie celebrates his fifth birthday just two days before the event in London.
Royal experts believe the former “Suits” star has major concerns for the safety of her children. Harry and his family are not entitled to any security service in the UK – this the family must pay for themselves.
Now he wants to cut it open
In addition, the Mirror newspaper writes that Meghan is afraid of facing hostility in her husband’s homeland.
As with his previous visit, it is uncertain where he will live. Several British media report that she has to settle for a hotel bed.
There are rooms at Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, Kensington Palace and Windsor Castle that could be made available to him, but apparently King Charles does not want to offer his son rooms.
The Mirror believes that the prince has therefore booked a room at The Goring Hotel – with astronomical room prices of around 8,000 pounds (approx. NOK 110,000).
Most Britons are most concerned about whether he will take the time to visit his sister-in-law Princess Kate (42). Harry has not met his sister-in-law – or his brother – since it was announced that she has cancer.
The last time he was in his homeland, Prince Harry spent just 26 hours there – reportedly only 30 minutes of which were with his father!
