On Saturday, Norwegian-Italian Alessandra Mele (20) is one of the finalists in Melodi Grand Prix.

Her song “Queen Of Kings” is the last to be performed when Norway’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest is selected.

Awaiting the verdict from the Norwegian people, Alessandra receives considerable attention abroad.

On Tuesday afternoon, it is clear that “Queen Of Kings” debuts in second place on Spotify’s “viral” list – the global, notably. It is based on which songs are shared and “trend” most internationally.

“Absolutely amazing!!!”, exults the artist in a message to VG.

Millions

At the same time, the song stands out as the most streamed on Spotify of all the national final contributions to the participating countries’ respective finals, according to an overview from Alessandra’s record company Universal.

Exposure on TikTok is, according to Universal, a decisive reason for its success. They refer to 60 million views and 3,300 video creations with the song.

This ESC blog reported two days ago that “Queen Of Kings” was the first of this year’s ESC aspiring songs to pass two million plays on Spotify.

At the time of writing, it has over 4.1 million.

Right behind is another Norwegian final entry, currently the most popular in Norway: Jones’ “Ekko inni meg”.

It has 1.95 million Spotify plays as of now. The song is the first to be performed in the MGP final on Saturday.
