Haaland was not involved in last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final, which ended with a 1-0 victory over Chelsea. In the game before, the Champions League defeat against Real Madrid, the Norwegian had to go out with an injury. He was also out of the squad against Brighton on Thursday.
City manager Pep Guardiola stated in advance that the youngster had struggled with a “muscular problem”.
Haaland is joint top scorer in the league with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer. They have both scored 20 goals.
City are one point behind league leaders Arsenal, but the light blues have one game less played. Thus, they have everything in their own hands in the run-up to the season. Haaland and co. face Nottingham Forest away on Sunday.
