Man in his 40s died in a traffic accident in central Stavanger – Dagsavisen

At 11.13 this morning, the police received a report of a traffic accident in the center of Stavanger.

– The accident happened in the culvert that runs between Verksalmenningen and Haugesundsgata. A man in his 40s has died, says operations manager in the South-West police district Dag Steinkopf.

The man’s relatives have been informed of the accident.

The culvert is closed, and the road is also closed on the stretch from the roundabout at the Bergelands tunnel to the roundabout towards Verven. It is currently unknown when the stretch will be opened to traffic again.

– The police are investigating the accident, and we will now try to find out the cause of the accident, says the operations manager.

Crime scene technicians are on the scene and investigating. The police currently have no further information about the accident.
