Before the weekend, Rød ungdom leader Amrit Kaur caused a furore both inside and outside the Rødt party when she referred to Jonas Gahr Støre, Jens Stoltenberg, Nicolai Tangen and Benjamin Netanyahu as terrorists in a TikTok video.

In Politisk kvarter on NRK on Monday morning, Kaur apologized for calling Støre, Stoltenberg and Tangen terrorists, after AUF, among others, had reacted strongly.

By that time, there was an occasionally fierce debate on social media, where, among other things, Storting representative Mímir Kristjánsson wrote that he was “embarrassed, angry and furious” after the statements.

Dagsavisen has asked Rødt for an overview of how many people have opted out as a result of Kaur’s statements. Communications adviser Stian Nicolajsen replies that in the period 3 – 7 May they have received 60 announcements. At the same time, they have received 27 entries.

At the same time last year, when there was no commotion in the party, they received 28 announcements and 13 announcements.

He states that Rødt had 13,848 members at the turn of the year.
