The police received a report about the incident at 21:00 on Wednesday.
A man in his 50s has been stabbed and is said to be seriously injured.
Several police units are now searching for a perpetrator in the area around Vår Frelsers Gravlund in central Oslo.
– The content was from the start that there should be a person who was possibly injured by a knife at Vår Frelsers Gravlund. The police and health were quickly on the scene and found an offended party, says operations manager Bjørn Gunnar Nysæter to VG.
The police have started interviewing witnesses and secured a description of the perpetrator.
– We have large forces looking for him, says Nysæter.
Neither of the two involved is linked to a criminal milieu.
The victim has been taken to hospital.
The police say that as of now it does not appear to be a random act.
– A type of relationship or acquaintance between the victim and the perpetrator. We currently have no concrete suspects.
