Man (18) charged after Holmlia shooting – the police believe the shooting was an accident

The police have changed the investigation from attempted murder to grossly illegal arming with a firearm.

The 18-year-old man was released on 2 May, the same day the police arrested and charged him, they write in a press release on Wednesday afternoon

– The hypothesis that the victim was shot by accident has been strengthened by the accused’s explanation and by technical evidence in the case, they write.

Earlier, the police have also said that they suspect that the shooting may have been an accident.

On Monday 22 April, an 18-year-old man was shot at Lia kindergarten in Holmlia. He was slightly injured and did not want to explain himself to the police.

– The police take very seriously the fact that young people get hold of firearms with great potential for harm, and that they carry weapons with them in public, the police write and continue:

– An investigation is still ongoing in the case. No weapons have yet been seized.
