It includes both a square, a cultural centre, a car park and a combination building of housing and business. But geotechnical conditions have proven that this is complicated. Here there is clay that can slide out, and at the same time the seabed topography must be examined.
– We have asked the port company to do what is necessary to solve this. The latest news is that there will now be a report from Multiconsult one of the first days, deputy mayor Jess Milter told Solabladet in April.
Now the Stavanger region is notifying the Port that Multiconsult will go out and do foundation drilling. It will happen next week.

– In connection with geotechnical assessments that are now being carried out in connection with the new fishing quay in Tananger, the engineering geotechnician has notified that they need to carry out more ground surveys. Special sampling with subsequent special tests to gain a better understanding of the clay’s mechanical properties. This is particularly important in an area with challenging ground conditions such as in this area, says acting port director in the Stavanger region Havn IKS, Odd Bjørn Bekkeheien.
Ground drilling is planned both at sea and on land, and the ground drilling is planned to be carried out in week 20, from Monday 13 May to Thursday 16 May. The only practical significance of the foundation drilling will be for the fishermen, as it is not desirable to have fishing boats at the quay when foundation drilling is taking place at sea. Bekkeheien says that they have notified the fishermen directly about this.
– We do not foresee any major challenges when it comes to leisure boats, he adds.
