Are you under 20 and like to write? Then we’ll be looking for you

--

On 13 June, the Hjertebank festival takes place in Rensåsparken in Bodø, with artists such as Undergrunn and Sondre Justad on stage.

Avisa Nordland will cover the festival editorially – and that includes reviews of the artists.

That is why we are now looking for one or two young people under the age of 20 who are interested in music and have a small journalistic dream in their stomachs.

– The festival is made by and for young people. It would therefore have been very fun to bring in a young writer who can review the concerts, says news editor Cathrine Skogheim in Avisa Nordland.

– Fantastic

The new youth festival has been on the drawing board for two years, and this year is the first time it has been organised. It is UNG2024, Bodø2024’s youth initiative, which is behind it, in collaboration with Parkenfestivalen.

The tickets were snapped up in two hours when they were released earlier this year.

– The festival’s target group is young people between the ages of 13 and 20. That’s why we’re looking for someone in that age group who might be interested in saying something about the music they hear. As a reviewer, you get press accreditation for the festival, and of course we arrange training ahead of the festival, says Skogheim.

The Hjertebank management is happy about the initiative:

– Hjertebank must have a high degree of youth participation. The fact that Avisa Nordland, Nordland’s largest newspaper, makes it possible for young people to also get into print is fantastic. It is as if Bodø Glimt had set aside a place on the A team for a youth player, says project manager Stian A. Olsen.

– Unique opportunity

– This festival represents a unique opportunity for young people with an interest in culture and journalism, says Charlotte Nyheim Eriksen, project manager in UNG2024.

– Here, young people can get both guidance and skills development within the media and news world, while at the same time experiencing a fantastic cultural experience together with 3,000 like-minded people. This is an opportunity that should not be missed. The collaboration with so many strong and important actors gives an incredible breadth in various areas, which young people can help shape and actively participate in around the festival.

The announcement will be published at Avisa Nordland, and in Hjertebank’s and Bodø2024’s channels.

– But one thing is important to emphasize: As a reviewer, you must write what you think, unaffected by the festival or the artists you listen to. We do journalism, not advertising for the festival or the artists. But we are also happy that Hjertebank thinks the initiative is good, says Skogheim.
