The emergency services were notified of the occupational accident at 09.30.
One person is injured and sent to Haukeland hospital after an explosion in a battery in a bus.
The police characterize the injuries as serious.
The accident happened at the Tide plant at Mannsverk in Landås in Bergen, in connection with work on an electric bus, according to the police.
– It may appear that an explosive accident has occurred. Investigation will uncover further reasons, says operations manager Terje Magnussen in the West police district.
No passengers on board
The bus is said to have been out of service for some time, and there were no passengers on board the bus.
No fire was triggered as a result of the explosion, according to the police.
Both the police, ambulance and fire brigade responded to the explosion. They are now working to find out which battery exploded.
The operations manager says that a case will be opened on the incident.
Jumped on the first flight to Bergen
NRK has spoken to the company YES-EU AS, which confirms that they are responsible for the import of the Chinese electric buses.
– Our role is to import Yutong buses to Norway and Scandinavia. In Bergen, we also carry out service and repairs on the buses on behalf of Tide, says Gøran Rykkje, who is service manager in the company.
Rykkje writes in a text message that he has jumped on the first flight to Bergen to find out what caused the explosion.
