On Tuesday, pupils from 6th and 7th grade from schools in Søgne and Songdalen took part in the annual TINE Relay. This year, Nygård School was the technical organizer and carried out the event in collaboration with Søgne IL.
“The TINE Relay is organized by the Norwegian Athletics Federation (NFIF) and TINE, where the goal is to promote physical activity and grassroots sports among children and young people. Every year, over 100,000 young people participate, spread over around 300 events, to share the joy of running and play sports at school,” the organizers write on their website.
– With over 100,000 participants, this is the world’s largest relay. Today, pupils from 6th and 7th grade run, and it is run in heats with eight stages, each of which is 200 meters and with both boys and girls on the teams, says Jon Fjeld from Søgne IL to N247.
The TINE relay is organized all over the country, and at the convention in Tangvall on Tuesday, the local schools were represented by close to 200 students.
