The background for the competition is to create awareness of Volkswagen’s new model. The retailers around the country are now handing out sweaters to customers. The sweaters have a built-in sensor, which both counts steps and how far you walk in a separate app created for the purpose.

– We are proud of the range of our new Volkswagen ID.7. That’s why we’ve created a fun activity that encourages customers to be as fit as the car, says Tommy Nikolaisen, sales and marketing manager at Gumpens Auto Grenland.

There are shortcuts

The goal of the competition is to go 613 kilometers, which is the range of the new car. Everyone who logs this distance by 16 June is entered into the draw for a brand new ID.7.

If you think going over 60 miles will be a long way, there are shortcuts to shorten the trim trips.

– If you test drive the ID.7, half of the kilometres, 306.5 kilometres, will be registered in the app, says Nikolaisen.

Bonuses will also be posted daily in the sweater app, which gives an increased number of kilometres.

Replaces Passat

The sales and marketing manager highlights the long range, very spacious compartment and large luggage space as the advantages of the new model.

– The car replaces the Passat and also comes in four-wheel drive and as a station wagon. We have sold an awful lot of the Passat, so we think the ID.7 will also sell well. Norway is a country for four-wheel drive vehicles and station wagons. There are many people waiting for this car, says Nikolaisen.
