Anne Berit Figenschau will be the new regional director of Innovation Norway

Anne Berit Figenschau is employed as the new regional director of Innovation Norway Arctic.

Figenschau will start his job as regional director on 10 June 2024.

— I am passionate about us making use of the enormous opportunities in Troms, Finnmark and Svalbard, so that we can create new, green and profitable industries and attractive jobs, says Anne Berit Figenschau in a press release.

There was great interest in the position of new regional director. In his new role, Figenschau will lead over 30 colleagues at offices in Vadsø, Alta, Kirkenes and Tromsø.

— The Arctic is an important region, for us in Innovation Norway and for Norway in general, and it is crucial for us to get a good leader in place here. Therefore, it is gratifying to experience that there is great interest in Innovation Norway in Troms and Finnmark, and it has been a pleasure to be part of this recruitment process, says Helle Øverbye, divisional director of Innovation Norway.

Anne Berit Figenschau is a capable leader, she is versatile and competent, and has a large network and a heart that beats for the north. It is with pride and joy that we can now welcome Anne Berit Figenschau to us as regional director, says Øverbye.

Figenschau brings many years of management experience to the job. She comes from the position of head of section in the Swedish Tax Agency, and was previously finance councilor in Tromsø municipality. She has experience from tourism in the Visit Tromsø region, and technology and management experience from Dualog and Telenor. Anne Berit Figenschau has an MBA in strategic management and economics from the University of Tromsø.
