This year’s children’s and bus trains follow the same alternative route as last year, due to the city bridge.
THE DRAMA: There will be a traditional celebration by train in the center of Drammen, Svelvik, Krokstadelva, Mjøndalen and Solbergelva, reports Drammen municipality.
– The children’s train in Drammen city follows the same route as last year, and the children will line up in Kirkegårdsparken at Bragernes. It is because of work on the new city bridge that the children’s train does not start at Strømsø, as it has done in previous years. After the train, there will be a folk festival at Bragernes torg, with, among other things, a speech from mayor Kjell Arne Hermansen, children’s speeches, cultural elements, singing and dancing, the municipality says.
At Wildenveysplass in Mjøndalen and on the church steps in Svelvik, there will be speeches and wreaths. There will also be family events in all parts of the municipality.
For the Drammensrussen, there are Russian trains from 1.30 p.m. This year, a separate jubilee parade will be organized for Leikarringen Noreg, which is 100 years old, with a separate bunad train that everyone can take part in.
