NRK has received confirmation from the airport manager at Tromsø airport, Ivar Helsing Schrøen, that the airspace is closed in parts of northern Norway.

– The challenge is from Bardufoss and northwards. We are unsure of the cause, since it is so recent. We found out about it 15 minutes ago, he says to NRK.

Airport manager at Evenes Airport, Bjørn Isaksen, tells Fremover that the challenge does not apply to Evenes Airport.

– Evenes has so far been exempted. That is the information I have now and then we will see if it develops, says Isaksen.

According to NRK, fiber breakage is the cause. According to Helsing Schrøen, there is nothing to indicate that the problem is the same as that which arose in southern Norway earlier in the week.

The latest update is that the fiber fault applies north of Bodø.

Airport manager for Evenes and Bardufoss Airport, Bjørn Isaksen, tells NRK that there is an arrival at 17.15 at Bardufoss Airport which they are unsure if they will be able to land, as the situation is now.

In a test message to Forward at 17:46, Isaksen writes:

– For the time being, traffic to/from Evenes of Bardufoss is fine and the towers are operating normally.
