There will be tapas and bubbles and spring fashion at Sola cultural center on Wednesday 10 April. Then several stores in Sola start fashion shows in the foyer and hope for a large turnout.
For Kristine Sigmundstad at Sa Du Sko, this is a good, old family tradition. Her mother, Anne Brit from Taras, led the fashion show in the old premises of SR-Bank for years.
– It has been a talking point and very popular. People were always asking when the next show was going to be. For us, it has always been an important event where we can show ourselves off. Now we’re taking it up a notch, says Kristine.
Bubbles, fashion and humour
Taras, Sa Du Sko, Mette Hagen, Sola sport og fritid and Alliance Optikk Sola will be presenting their collections. The models will wear clothes and shoes from the stores, as well as glasses from the optician. There is much that is new here.
In addition, Jan Rune Holdhus, known as June Kommune, will be the presenter. There will also be prizes for lucky winners, and after the show several shops in the center will be open.
Style, but popular
Joining the organizers is Flyt Sola AS, and general manager Anne Grethe Vasbø thinks it’s great to be able to be in the cultural center.
– After the cultural center renovated the foyer, it’s nice to be able to present this as a large living room. It is both nice and important that the fashion show this spring is in the city centre, and we will make this a really nice evening for people, she says.
In Sola there are fashion shows in both spring and autumn, and last autumn there was a very elegant event at the Sola Strand Hotel. It will also be elegant now, but also popular.
– What I think is so nice about the fashion shows here is that the models are mostly people and both children and adults. The people who work in the shops here are very good at helping people find clothes that suit everyone, whether you are tall, short, big or small. It’s really good service and a high level of competence, boasts Vasbø.
