Markus Slyngenborg Jensen (25) has been employed as the new public and media manager at FFK, after Sindre Lie resigned in March. Despite his young age, Markus has an impressive background from various roles in top football, most recently as media manager at IK Start.

At the age of 22, alongside his master’s studies in Sport Management, he was given the task of marketing consultant for the English giant club, Manchester City. His assignment was to work map-wise and strategically to strengthen the club’s expertise, knowledge and insight into the Norwegian market.

The following year, Markus was employed by IK Start, where he has had various roles during a very challenging period for the traditional southern club. Now he is looking forward to coming home to Østfold and working for the club he followed closely in his childhood!

It really triggers me to have the opportunity to work for FFK. I am looking forward to taking on the responsibility that the position entails, but also the responsibility that lies in representing the city’s pride and an aristocrat in football Norway. I have allowed myself to be impressed by what the club and the supporters have achieved recently, and I am looking forward to helping to further develop the club and contributing to the club reaching its long-term goals, says Markus.

And Markus is allowed to be impressed: In the Eliteserie comeback, FFK sold over 4,000 season tickets, in addition to two “full houses” against Bodø/Glimt and Sarpsborg 08. In other words; a very good starting point for further public work.

The way Markus has worked with both communication and audience initiatives for Start has impressed us. In Fredrikstad, Markus will join a larger organization and an increasingly professional team of photographers, content producers and advertising agencies around him. With Markus joining the club, we believe that we now have the apparatus in place that can lift the club, the brand and the public work to the next level, says commercial manager Espen Østerhaug.

Welcome to FFK, Markus!

NB! Markus will initially start in FFK on 1 July, but both the clubs and Markus are in dialogue about the possibilities for an earlier start.
