OSLO CITY (Nettavisen): The board of Rizzo Group AB has decided to file for bankruptcy, they state in a press release on Wednesday.
Morris, who has struggled financially for a long time and filed for bankruptcy protection for the second time in 2021, has sold suitcases, bags, gloves, wallets and travel accessories, among other things.
According to the chain’s own website, they have 41 stores in Norway. In Sweden, they have a further 18 stores.
– There is little hope that someone else can take over the stores in Norway. They have done better than those in Sweden, says Oliver Kornerud to Nettavisen on Wednesday morning.
He has been a full-time employee at Morris in Oslo City for two years, and says it has been a good place to work.
He goes on to say that the employees have been called to a meeting at 3pm on Wednesday.

– We have not received any information about what is happening beyond the fact that there will be a meeting for all employees later today, he says.
According to the Rizzo Group’s press release, as recently as this week they have been conducting negotiations with the aim of finding a solution to save the company and save around 160 jobs.
– We saw it coming, but this is crazy, says Kornerud
