Bio Marine starts its own production of lice trapsert in Siauliai in Lithuania. Svein Brudeseth Tveiten will lead the new company Bio Marine Baltic.

To meet a growing market with even better lice skirts, Bio Marine establishes production of lice skirts in Siauliai in Lithuania.

– We have carried out market research which shows that there is room for more players in the market for skirts, and we believe that we have a good deal of new things to add on this front, says Nils Hovden, marketing manager at Bio Marine, in a press release.

Necessary experience and expertise in the production of skirts has recently been acquired by associating Svein Brudeseth Tveiten. Production manager Kaitana Juškevičius and technical manager Domas Juškevičius are also employed by the company, both with more than ten years’ experience in the production of louse skirts in Norway.

– We have a powerful organisation, and the new facility is based on many years of experience. This will be a plant as I have always wanted in terms of production. Today, you have to operate both rationally and efficiently in order to compete. We are planning smart production with high capacity, says Tveiten.

The investment in lice skirts is part of the long-term strategy for Bio Marine, which wants to deliver complete solutions for the cage environment, such as shielding using skirts, systems for circulation, oxygen addition and environmental monitoring.

At the same time, Bio Marine follows the example of several Norwegian equipment suppliers in establishing production in Lithuania.

– The cost level is of course an important element, even if logistics, production capacity and delivery reliability are alpha and omega, says Nils Hovden.
