– It will be like a big festival!

Siril Bull Henstein is bubbling when she checks the weather forecast for the coming days.

At the cultural arena SALT on Langkaia in Oslo, where Henstein is the general manager, close to a hundred colleagues have been mobilized to prepare the outdoor area for summer and sun.

– We are in full swing here. All men on deck.

More than 20 degrees and sunshine are reported in large parts of southern Norway from Thursday.

– Then it’s time to enjoy the nice weather, says state meteorologist Ingvild Villa to VG.

She even states that we can call the heat we have in store for “summer temperatures”.

The good weather forecast also applies to the vast majority of places in the southern part of the country.

– It varies slightly depending on where you are. But overall, Thursday, Friday and Saturday look very good.

But – it is important to enjoy. Because the temperatures can quickly drop again during the month of May, according to Villa.

Announces food, beer and music

For Henstein at SALT, however, the over-ignition takes over. They have been waiting for this weather forecast since Easter, she says.

– With you, is summer already underway?

– Wow. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Henstein tells about the outdoor area of 2,500 square meters which can be filled with up to 900 Norwegians. The DJ has already been booked, and it is set up for beer and food service.

– I am most looking forward to walking through the outdoor dining area and feeling that everyone is happy. Anyone who enjoys sitting outside in the sun. It’s fantastic when it’s just buzzing.

On a daily basis, the boss sits in the office with paperwork. But most of all, she would have attended the party herself.

– I hope that I get to stand behind the bar for a bit.

– It is always nice to come here. There is a good atmosphere, lots of laughter and good music, she adds.

With a location along the quay, Henstein also hopes that the citizens of Oslo will venture into the water when we see the 20s on the scale.

– Are you thinking of taking a dip yourself then?

– Hmm. I think I’m going to work. That will probably be the main priority, she replies with a laugh.

Back to meteorologist Villa. She emphasizes that what we have in store is typical May weather.

– It is a foretaste of summer, but it is not entirely certain that summer is fully here yet. It is possible that it will be a little cooler again.

The uncertainty already applies from next week.

– The way it looks now, this week is where the weather is concerned.

She also wants to remind everyone of the local grass and heather fire danger when the dry weather hits.
