On the night of Monday, a murder alarm was sounded in Oslo. Trine Wagelid (34) was found murdered in an apartment on Grünerløkka in Oslo.
– It was a great shock to learn that my dear sister is no longer here, that she was killed in Oslo. As for details, I don’t know more than what I’ve read in the media.
That’s what Trine’s brother, Tom Wagelid (40) says to VG. Ságat mentioned the case first.
A man in his late 20s has been charged with murder following the incident. The man has pleaded guilty.
– The police have said that I will be kept informed on an ongoing basis, and I agree to that. I will not at all make any speculations about the perpetrator or about the reason why this could happen until I myself have received more information in the case, says Wagelid further.
Tom last met Trine at her father’s funeral in 2023.
– Trine has probably lived in Oslo for close to 20 years, but we kept in touch. She worked as a sales manager and was last employed by Tine Meiierier, he says.
The police in Oslo have previously explained that the perpetrator and Trine have been friends for many years. They will not comment on what has been said in questioning with the accused.
It was the accused themselves who alerted the emergency services on the night of Monday. He was arrested when the police arrived at the address at 03:00.
– Life-saving first aid was attempted, but the woman was declared dead on the spot, says police inspector Grete Metlid.
The police made discoveries at the scene which led to the man being charged with murder. Among other things, weapons that they believe have been used have been seized.
