Have started a Spleis collection for something that will benefit the whole village

MONEY: Stiftelsen Kirkens Bymisjon has started a Spleis fundraiser to get enough funds to buy a defibrillator. The hotel believes this will benefit the entire village.

The defibrillator will hang at Viste Strandhotell, and be available to everyone. At the time of writing, there are 10 who have contributed NOK 2,130, but there is a long way to go; NOK 22,366.

In the description of Spleis, Stiftelsen Kirkens Bymisjon writes the following; Summer is fast approaching. Last year there were many great days, with many handsome people on the beach.

– After we practiced life-saving first aid and defibrillators at the Ventilene Viste beach hotel, we found out that it would take eight minutes round trip for a fit person to run to the nearest defibrillator. This is without calculating extra time to locate and take down the starter itself, says Elisabeth Lied, and adds.

– This is a lot of time, when it says seconds. Therefore, we want to protect everyone who walks, runs, swims, sunbathes, eats ice cream or much else around and in the hotel.

The hotel has limited financial resources, and Lid hopes others are passionate about this.

– The hotel is almost always staffed and will therefore be accessible to everyone, but safe from vandalism. Hope many will contribute so that we can protect all the village’s bath nymphs, concludes Lied.
