TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING – FLORIDA PANTHERS 6-3:

Emil Lilleberg and the Tampa Bay Lightning took their first win in this year’s NHL playoffs. Night into Sunday, the team reduced to 3–1 in games against the rival Florida Panthers.

The Panthers have so far been clearly the best team in the series and led 3–0 in games before the match. On Sunday night, however, it was the Lightning who drew the longest straw when they won 6–3 in Amalie Arena in Tampa.

Emil Lilleberg kept his place on the team. That was done even though one of Lightning’s back stars, Mikhail Sergachev, was back after a long injury layoff. The Russian and Lilleberg play in the same position on the ice.

Steven Stamkos and Brandon Hagel each scored twice for the Lightning, while Brayden Point and Nicholas Paul also added a goal each.

For the Panthers, it was Sam Reinhart, Carter Verheaghe and Swedish Oliver Ekman-Larsson who made their mark on the scoring list.

Lilleberg got a solid 19 minutes and two seconds on the ice, but did not score any goals.

The Lightning’s victory thus means that the teams must at least play a fifth game to decide the winner of the best-of-seven series. That match will be played on the night of Tuesday Norwegian time.
