“Day 37 of doing this dance until I get a full-time job.” That’s the text in the latest video Anita Hundseid (27) has posted on Tiktok.
In over 30 videos, she dances the same dance in various locations in Trondheim.
– I started looking for jobs around Christmas time, but it felt hopeless. I got nowhere and felt a bit “stuck”. So I thought these dance videos could be something fun to do while I search further, she says to Trd.by.
Further down in the case, you can read what a recruiter thinks about the stunt.
Trønder’s Embla has an unusual job: – Several are betting on it
Actively searching
Hundseid originally comes from Asker, but has lived in Trondheim since 2016. Last spring, she completed a master’s in physical activity and health at NTNU.
Now the days are spent, among other things, being an instructor at Sit and produce content for Ata training equipment.
– I have many small jobs, but I am looking for a full-time position. Then I don’t have so many different things to manage.
Hundseid hopes for a job in physical activity and health or content production. Preferably in Trondheim.
She has received comments that she should spend her time sending job applications rather than dancing on Tiktok.
– I am constantly searching. The videos are just for fun. Of course, it would have been fun to actually get a job from these videos, but it’s basically just a fun pastime while I’m actually looking for jobs.

Employers make contact
Hundseid has nevertheless received three job offers as a result of the dances already. She has also heard that the videos have spread to relevant workplaces.
Together, the 37 videos have received almost 500,000 views so far.
– There are several people on Tiktok who have posted dance videos every day with a goal, as I have done. But I don’t know if anyone has done it until they get a full-time job, she laughs.

Can be positive
Hundseid is not alone in trying to get a job using social media.
Last year, Torjus Lunder Bredvold got his dream job in Oslo by posting an open video application in “Tiktok format” on LinkedIn, which he also sent to relevant employers.
General manager and recruiter in The forward groupHege Svendsen, says that in order to get a permanent job in media or content production, you must be able to show experience from what you have done with similar production in social media.
– We recently had a position within SoMe production where we asked applicants to send work samples or link to their own channels to show what they can do. Many companies lack expertise on Tiktok, so a profile there can be good experience, she says.
Young people from Trondheim are among the most popular on TikTok: – Unbelievably handsome
Wise to be proactive
Svendsen believes, like Hundseid himself, that it can be difficult to get a job exclusively through social media.
She therefore encourages you to make contact with companies and recruitment agencies, and refer to your own channels or videos to show off some of what you can do.
– Looking for a job can be particularly difficult as a recent graduate. You often compete with many who have more experience than you. Your own channels on social media can help you stand out from the crowd, and the content there should show that you have relevant knowledge of what the employer is looking for, she says.
