Russia has summoned the British ambassador on the carpet after David Cameron said Ukraine had the right to use British weapons to attack Russia.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the British Foreign Minister’s comments are proof that Britain is now in practice part of the conflict in Ukraine.

Furthermore, they warned that British military installations could be targeted both inside and outside Ukraine in response to attacks on Russian territory.

Sent Storm Shadow

Two weeks ago it became clear that Britain is sending the long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine as part of the country’s largest Ukraine package to date.

The Storm Shadow is a modern cruise missile built to be launched from aircraft. A cruise missile is simply explained as a missile with wings and usually a jet engine that flies like a small plane, and has some form of steering mechanism to hit targets with relatively high precision.

At first, the British Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, stated that the missiles will only be used on Ukrainian territory, but on Friday he issued a counter-notice.

Moscow rages

Cameron’s remarks really set the mood in Russia, where the Kremlin has described the remarks as dangerous and worrying.

That’s what Sky News writes in an update.

As a response to the British Defense Minister’s statements, the Kremlin is resoundingly clear that a possible Ukrainian attack on Russian soil will lead to a direct escalation of the war.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Cameron’s comments could put the entire European security system at risk.
