Israel’s IDF says it has killed another Hamas leader. It concerns Ra’ad Thabat, a high-ranking leader in Hamas’s military wing.
“He was located and eliminated,” writes the IDF on X.
This is the third Hamas agent who has been killed in the last month, writes Expressen.
The IDF describes Ra’ad Thabat as “one of Hamas’ top ten leaders”. The Israeli military now informs X that he has been eliminated.
“He was located and eliminated during the ongoing operation at Shifa when he tried to escape together with two other terrorists,” writes the IDF.
It says that Ra’ad Thabat, who held a high-ranking position in Hamas’s military wing, was killed while planning to attack IDF soldiers.
The information comes two weeks after Hamas’s third most senior leader, Marwan Issa, was killed in an attack in Gaza, which was confirmed by US national security adviser Jake Sullivan.
– The rest of the top leaders are in hiding, probably deep inside Hamas’ tunnel network, says Sullivan according to the Washington Post.
Marwan Issa was deputy commander of Hamas’s military wing and is said to have helped plan the terrorist attack on October 7 last year, which killed 1,200 Israelis.
A week earlier, Israel said it had killed Hamas’s fourth most senior leader, Political Deputy Saleh al-Arouri.
– We are on our way to total victory. On the way to this victory, we have already eliminated number four in Hamas. Three, two and one are on the way, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
