On Friday, masked men began shooting around a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow. At the time of writing, Russian authorities have stated that 133 people have died. According to the Russian authorities, four people have been arrested.

There are now images of the arrests of some of the alleged perpetrators.

In a video, a person is seen walking towards a prisoner transport surrounded by Russian, masked soldiers while blood flows from his head. Another film shows what is probably the cause of the head injuries.

In a film, you can see how one of the men lies tied behind his back on the ground, with several men on top of him. One of the men cuts off his ear, while the suspected terrorist screams intensely. The ear is then stuffed into the man’s mouth, in an attempt to get him to eat his own ear.

So far, it is mainly Russian Telegram users who have shared the images and videos. But the state-controlled news agency Ria has also shared photos of one of the perpetrators. They identify him as Rajab Alizadeh.

– Poor Russian skills

Baza, a Telegram channel with strong links to Russian security authorities, writes that intelligence officers quickly managed to identify the men’s accomplices. It is not mentioned whether the torture the man in the video was subjected to contributed to the identification.

BBC Russia is informed that two of the perpetrators were killed when security forces stormed the concert hall, but this has not been confirmed by other sources or by the Russian authorities.

The news agency Ria writes that all the perpetrators either speak Russian poorly or pretend to. The interrogations are said to have taken place in Tajik.

IS says they are behind it

The extremist Islamist group IS has claimed responsibility for the attack. Russian President Vladimir Putin has not commented on the claim from IS, but has claimed that the suspected perpetrators fled in the direction of Ukraine. According to the Russian authorities, eleven foreign nationals, including the four perpetrators, were arrested in Bryansk county, which borders Ukraine.

Ukraine denies any involvement in the terrorist attack.

An unnamed US official told the AP news agency on Saturday that US intelligence has information showing that IS was behind it. The US, like Norway and a number of other countries, has condemned the terrorist attack in Russia, and the White House on Saturday described IS as a “common terrorist enemy”.
