The TV series about the Lørenskog disappearance premieres on Netflix on Wednesday. Tom Hagen’s defense attorney does not rule out the possibility of taking legal action.

On an autumn day at the end of October 2018, Anne-Elisabeth Hagen disappeared from her home in Sloraveien 4 in Lørenskog.

The police immediately began investigating the case, but almost four years later the case is still unsolved. Anne-Elisabeth has not been found.

Her husband, Tom Hagen, is charged with murder or complicity in the murder of his wife. He denies any criminal guilt.

Now the story has become a drama series.

“The disappearance. Lørenskog 31 October 2018» will be available on Netflix on Wednesday, September 14. This is how Netflix describes the upcoming series:

“The wife of a billionaire is reported missing, and the Norwegian police must deal with a runaway press and dishonest informants in the search for the truth.”

It is also stated that the drama series is based on real events.

– A tremendous burden

Tom Hagen’s lawyer, Svein Holden, is clear about what he thinks about there being a series now.

– The series involves a tremendous strain on my client and his family, he emphasizes and continues:

– For my own part, I also think it is very worrying that such a series is broadcast while the case is still under active investigation.

Don’t watch the series

According to Holden, Hagen has not been in contact with the production team in connection with the recording.

– I have had some contact with the series creators. Tom Hagen has had no contact whatsoever with them, he says.

Even Holden or Hagen have not seen the series yet.

– We have received an offer to watch the series before it is broadcast, but have not yet done so.

Will consider legal action

Attorney Holden does not rule out the possibility of going to court.

– Legal action is naturally something that is assessed on an ongoing basis, he says.

He nevertheless emphasizes that it is too early to say whether it will become relevant.

– It is impossible to be more specific until we have seen the product.

The series is produced for Netflix by Monster Scripted. The screenwriters are Nikolaj Frobenius and Stephen Uhlander. It is directed by, among others, Erik Skjoldbjærg and Gjyljeta Berisha.

Terje Strømdahl plays Tom Hagen.

Elsewhere in the cast we find, among others, Yngvild Støen Grotmol, Kidane Gjølme Dalva, Christian Rubeck, Victoria Ose and Henrik Rafaelsen.

Series creator: – No comment

VG has asked the production team behind the series what they think of Holden’s answer.

– As directors, we have no comment on that, replies Erik Skjoldbjærg, who is one of the directors of the series.

Nor does screenwriter Nikolaj Frobenius want to comment on the possibility of Hagen’s lawyer going to court.

– It is the manufacturer who handles it. It is as expected, but they should probably watch the series first, he says.

Cathrine Simonsen is Head of Monster Scripted, which has produced the series. She agrees with Frobenius:

– We understand that it is a natural response from a lawyer to a series they have not yet seen, she says.
