Kennedy, the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy and son of former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, has long been a concern for Democrats backing Biden’s bid, although his policy platforms sometimes diverge from the party. But as polls show Kennedy drawing support from members of both parties, Trump has begun to acknowledge the threat the independent could pose in a race where the margin of victory for Trump or Biden is currently looking slim.
“They say he hurts Biden. I’m not sure that that’s true, and I think he probably hurts [us] both,” Trump said of Kennedy in a recent radio interview.
Sunday morning’s Truth Social musings follow a lengthy Saturday diatribe, in which Trump accused Kennedy of being a “Democrat ‘Plant’.”
